I hate to raise and old issue but I went to a clothing store yesterday to buy a pair of shorts that would not offend ONE person in particular and the golf committee in general. I guess I wasn't surprised to find that at least 75% of the shorts available had patch pockets on them so I could not buy them as I would not be able to play golf while wearing them.
Now I could wear them at Gray Oaks, Old Florida and other trendy clubs like that and I could even wear them at the Countryside Club house, BUT NOT ON OUR GOLF COURSE. Come on Golf Committee and Master Board, do the right thing and get rid of this ridiculous, unnecessary rule. And while you are at it, bring back the walking passes that were used and enjoyed by so many of our members.------Bill Herzog
