Dear Members:

As you all know, I do not usually write on the Blog, but I was very upset with the situation that occurred last Saturday with the cub scout. Shame on the member who started all this, she could have handheld this in a very different way by saying no thank you or no I'm not interested. But to get the club and Stacy involved was "WRONG".This is a great thing this young man is doing by getting involved with scouting and not drugs. As you all know I have children and I am very proud of my grandchildren, they have all done well. The real shame here is what has been done to this young boy's self esteem, we are always looking to help our children, I feel an apologize should be made to this young man, his mom and his grandmother. His grandmother has been a member here in Countryside since day one and lives here year round. My children growing up sold girl scout cookies and the boy's cub scout cookies and Pop warner candy. Yes it's true we may not want any of the cookies or candy or anything else. But the first and foremost is to congratulate these kids that are doing the right thing and I'm am surprised that I heard Stacy called the GM Mike and he was the one who carried the torch, so bad Mike. Our children have to do good things and be awarded for them, shame is on the whole situation, don't forget we mold these kids and their ours fore ever. I am personally am sorry for this young scout. Let's not forget this young man generation will be running this country some day and he has already taken the Boy Scout Oath.

On my honor, I will do my best:
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
THANK YOU !
