Speed bumps are not the way to go to slow down cars on Countryside Dr. Some residents have called the sheriff's department for enforcement only to learn that Countryside Dr is private property and county enforcement is not possible. The sheriff's department did allow us the use of there portable radar trailer so drivers could see how fast they were going, but it was for a short period of time as others wanted to use it also. As a former police officer, I would like to point out that most residents do not speed on purpose, they just don't realize how fast they are going in these modern vehicles. One way to assist with the speed of vehicles is for Countryside to purchase (radar controlled speed signs). These signs look like speed signs except the members would see how fast they are going each time they drive on Countryside Dr. It is always nice to see the police driving thru our community, but to have them come in and enforce motor vehicle laws, the gates would have to come down and the street given back to the county.
