I too received a non compliance letter today. It said the mailbox needed a collar. Went out and lo and behold there is a collar! It was put there 3 years ago when the architectural committee said I needed a whole new mailbox, post,collar etc. Everything was fine for the last 3 years now all of a sudden I need a collar that is already there. I will assume this was just a mistake. But when will this end ? When we all decide to buy metal mailboxes that only a few want?
I checked the mailbox requirements in the green book. Under C. Appearance: #2. No adornments such as hanging flower baskets, statuary, etc.
I take this to mean no flags, balloons, hats. lights etc. Why are these allowed? Temporary or not these are adornments. I didn't make these rules. But they are listed. So comply.
The standards have be the same for all residents.
There are also people operating businesses out of their homes in Countryside. Home improvements, handyman. This is also a violation in Countryside. They know who they are and we know who they are.

Stop operating Countryside under a double standard now.
