I agree with Allan Ciccone. 25 mph is adequate for Countryside Dr. I
remember a horrific car crash in Dec. 1999 when a car driven at high
speed went out of control at about 1 a.m. This car skidded across a few
lawns on Countryside Dr. and went across the driveway at 541 Countryside
totally destroying 1 car parked on the driveway and damaging another car
on the driveway. The driver continued to skid across the next lawn and
came to "rest" in a group of palm trees on the lawn of 537 Countryside
Dr. The driver was transported to NCH and a passenger in the car was
able to walk away when someone came to pick him up..
Had this crash happened during the daytime I have no doubt that there
would have been more damage, injuries or loss of life since more people
would have been out.
Since Countryside Dr. is the main street here, the speed limit should
stay at 25 mph regardless of whether a person lives on Countryside Dr.
or not.
Give yourself an extra 2 minutes to get where you are going to and obey
the posted limit of 25 mph and you will get there anyway. Is 2 minutes
too much to ask for? Isn't your life and other's worth 2 minutes?
