Just have to get my two cents in concerning the open Golf Pro job. Why should this job be opened up for a national search? All that will do is cost this club more money. Sure we can find another club pro from up north who wants to get down here in the sun but he/she will be looking at a bigger better paying job just like our past pro. Vic Carder was an excellent pro but my bet is that he had his eye on a bigger and better paying job from the beginning. We hired Greg Long as an assistant pro because he was qualified. Over 17 years experience as a head pro. Ask the people from Lakewood what they thought of him. They loved him and my guess is that most of us who have dealt with Greg from his beginning days here love him as well. Save the money that a search and spend it on something worthwhile. Greg Long deserves this job. It is a no brainer.
Also a late but heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made the 20th birthday celebration such a wonderful occasion. My only concern is that Homeowners III did not win the float contest. We was robbed. But our spirits remain intact and we will win it the next time around. How about a 25th year celebration.
Also want to advise all of our Countryside residents who are on Medicare part A and B and who are also paying for a supplement, that they have from November 15th to December 31st to sign up in privately run insurance programs that just may allow them to drop their supplement insurance and save a lot of money. Humana, Universal Health Care, Evercare, AARP are just a few of the programs that should be checked out.
Bill Herzog ------ Still wishing everyone would sign their names.
