While having dinner the other night at the club, I was asked by another member if I knew why he was charged a tax on $80.00 that he had not spent out of his $500.00. He said he inquired and was told that it was the club policy and he felt it was wrong to be taxed on goods you never received.

I explained that a few years back I had to pay tax on then $400.00 as we did not use the club at all and at that time I was told it was the law. I felt the same way as this person, why are we paying a tax on something we never received.

My answer to him was go to the county & state taxing authority, I am sure they will give him the correct answer.
