CLUB SPONSORED GOLF TOURNAMENTS;
The last few club sponsored golf tournaments , including this summers 4th of July and Labor Day Tournaments, have been conducted by the same format, wherein only 10% of a teams handicap is allowed and there is no minimum number of times each players tee shot must be used..This is blatantly inequitable and strongly favors the lower handicaps. I know of many people, including myself, who will not play in this type of event any more. Scrambles and step-aside shambles are also highly disliked. Why do we bother maintaining a valid USGA handicap merely to have someone tinker with it at their pleasure? We should encourage high participation in our club events and I sincerely hope some thought is given to this before the anniversary tournaments. Don Norman
