I have owned at Countryside since 1997 and one of the things that drew us was that this was a walking friendly course. We have enjoyed the course all these years and now we here that the board has said that all walkers are to pay an extra $5 per person per round to walk while playing. Is it not a fact that we pay $3,200 a year for golf fee's and know they are adding a walking tax. Is Countryside that hard up that the board needs the extra $40 or $50 dollars a day that you would get from the walker's four days a week? One of the major factor's is the health benefits that an older generation of people would get is exercise and you are going to have walker's pay for this benefit. One of the board member's said in an e-mail that the board felt that the walker's should contribute to the maintenance of the golf course. Please do not think that the member's are sheep and do not ever question the intelligence of the members. I thought that it was quite interesting that the board does not charge walking fee;s through out the summer until the first of October except for a season pass of $25 that we have always payed
Board members, I urge you to reconsider this fee. This type of acton causes very hard feelings and the amount of money received at the end of a year would not cover the good will that the board should attempt to establish. Ask yourself, is it worth it? If the money is going to make or break Countryside, the budget is in much worse shape the we are let to believe.

PS I have copies of the e-mail that board members have sent when it was expressed that walkers should contribute to course maintenace. It seems as if you are using the walkers as scapegoats. I went through the back board meetings and did not see any reference in the minutes in which this was brought up.
